World Hello Day

world hello dayThis was a celebration of the countries that children in our school come from including England, Poland, Latvia and India. Each class focused on a different country learning to say hello, making delicious food, doing research about customs and traditions and much more. There work was shared with more than 150 parents and special visitors, including the Mayor, local MP and PCSO on Friday afternoon in the hall, and of course the children were there to say hello in their chosen countries language and to hand out the various dishes.

French Teachers Visit

Some French Primary School teachers visited our school with Chris Williams. They were completing a project focused on Science within the classrooms. During their visit they had lunch, visited many classrooms, watched a Year 5 Science lesson and asked about our curriculum, both Science and as a whole. They were very complimentary about our school and the learning behaviours of our children.

Global Learning at BK

At Bishop King we have introduced the use of Global images as stimuli for both P4C lessons and to develop critical thinking throughout the whole school. Through the careful consideration of the GL skills, knowledge and values we are embedding real-life Global situation into the whole curriculum. Thus we are supporting the children in becoming Global citizens, who can embrace the opportunities and challenges they encounter and be aware of the impact that they can have on our ever changing world.
