Learning Environments around school
As part of my role as subject leader for History and Geography I monitor the learning environment to make sure that there are enough resources for the topic, the key vocabulary is on display and that examples of the children's work is displayed. Here are the displays at the start of the term.
Year 1 and 2's topic is Superheroes and is linked to George Saves the World by Lunchtime by Jo Readman and so is focusing on Superhero stories in English but recycling in the local area in their Geography work.
Years 3 and 4's topic is Odious Oceans. They are exploring the oceans and seas of the world, the creatures that live in them and the people who have explored them. They are linkng in History by looking at stories with a historical setting and a focus on The Titanic.
Years 5 and 6's topic is The Victorians and they are focusing on what it would have been like to be a child during this period of History, as well as finding out about the monarch at this time.
