15/05/2020   Important letter to parents for Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 children.

Dear Parents and Carers,

For parents of children in: Years 2, 3, 4 and 5

You will be aware that schools may reopen, in June, for Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils - if the government thinks it’s safe to do so.

For those of you who have not been invited back into school – Years 2, 3, 4 and 5 pupils - please be assured that we will continue to keep in touch with you, updating you when necessary. Your child’s class teacher will continue to send you weekly learning through the class newsletters – term time only – and our pastoral team will continue to phone some of you to check on the wellbeing of you and your family.

In the meantime, the school is still open only for vulnerable pupils and the children of critical workers. We know some employers will be encouraging you to return to work, but we’re not in a position right now to extend places to other children until we receive further government guidance.

The government has said that it hopes for all primary school children to return to school in July. This is not currently feasible and is not guaranteed to happen due to the obvious health and safety implications. However, I will update you, as and when I know more.

Thank you for your continued support in helping your child learn from home.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. H Wheatley M.A.
