03/09/2021   Return to School - Monday 6th September 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have enjoyed the summer break with your children. We are looking forward to their return to school on Monday 6th September.

In light of new government guidelines, we have adapted our COVID risk assessment to support the full return of our children. Please find below a summary of our risk assessment:

Dropping off and collection of children:

• We no longer have staggered starts - see below for starting/ finishing times and gate entrances

• Staff will continue to wear masks at the gate - for parents, this is optional

• Only one adult per child at drop off and pick up points; this will ease any crowding

• One family to be in the front office at any one time

• Week commencing from 13th September - subject to signed consent form from parents and school - Year 6 pupils will be allowed to arrive and leave school unaccompanied; to be monitored regularly

In school:

• Pupils should wear PE kit on PE day; pupils will be informed on Monday 6th September of this day

• Pupils will be provided with their own resources, e.g. pencils, rulers, etc.

• We will maintain regular hand washing and cleaning of areas and equipment;

• Rooms will be well ventilated so please ensure your child comes in warm clothing

• If your child has symptoms, they should not attend school. There is no requirement for close contacts to self-isolate if they are:

  • fully vaccinated
  • below the age of 18 years or
  • not vaccinated for medical reasons

We will continue to heed government guidance, and therefore review our risk assessment regularly. Ultimately, our priority is to deliver face-to-face, high-quality education to all our pupils.

If you have any worries about your child’s return to school, please contact the office; your child’s new teacher will then contact you to discuss any concerns and reassure you about your child’s return.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you all back to school on September 6th.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs H Wheatley M.A.

Headteacher
